bio: Dixie Road is a country/western band from Topeka, Kansas who has opened for the likes of Sons of the Desert, Ricochet, John Michael Montgomery, Blackhawk, and Tracy Lawrence just to name a few. Dixie Roadprovides a high-energy show with crowd-pleasing music.

Dixie Road's 2nd CD Serious Fun was recorded in July 2000 at Germantown Studios in Nashville, Tennessee.
After opening for Ricochet for the second time in the spring of 2000, singer/songwriter Eddie Kilgallon liked
what he saw and made himself available to act as album coordinator on the CD. The Serious Fun CD sports three original songs from Dixie Road and five of Eddie K's songs. Eddie K. has penned songs like Ricochet's "Baby Hold On’ from their album What You Leave Behind and was named ASCAP's songwriter of the year for George Strait’s #1 hit "One Night At A Time." Dixie Road's original cut "Angels Can Fly," by Jim Bush, has received heavy airplay on WIBW 97 Country Radio in northeast Kansas while the title cut "Serious Fun" by Eddie K. is equally popular in the honky tonks in Missouri and Iowa.

Serious Fun has been the top #7 selling CD in the Hastings Music and Video store since October 2000 in
Topeka, KS. It is also stocked in other cities and is available on the band's web site: www.dixieroad.com.

Dixie Road got their start in 1995 by getting friends together to enter the Jimmy Dean/True Value Country Showdown National Talent Competition. After winning the local and state competitions, they proceeded to the regional finals in St. Louis where the band took 2nd Place, coming up only one point short of going to the Nationals and a possible recording contract. Since then, the guys have worked harder than ever. A few band members have changed, writing skills have tightened and Dixie Road has had further opportunities to open for nationally know acts in large venues.

Their freshman CD, Barn Burner was released in 1996 and sold over 1000 copies which garnered praise from the northeast Kansas radio station WIBW 97 Country.

As a band, Dixie Road is committed to music, to their fans, and to their families. The band loves performing together and it shows on stage. They are excellent entertainers who are great to work with. Dixie Road believes everyone should be treated with respect and look forward to each opportunity as it comes along. They will not compromise integrity for success. Hope you have a chance to enjoy the music!
